Tonight my neice and I went to the Kelly Clarkson concert at the San Diego County Fair. Formerly known as the Del Mar County Fair. I hadn't been there since I was 12 years old. It was rad! We had so much fun.

tonight my brother and i went out with a friend to the green door to have drinks and play pool. it's a very cool old bar in chicago... it's been around since the late 1800's.

it was all we had hoped and more

we were very happy with our experience at cereality. it almost felt like a dream.

"i had this dream, i was like, in a place, with so many kinds of cereal. you could pick any that you wanted and mix them... and then add toppings! and, get this... there was even soy milk in my dream too! oh wait, that wasn't a dream. it was cereality!"

movie review

i saw Batman tonight... it was not as good as i was expecting... i think my expectations were way too high. but, what's his name was super hot... worth a viewing just to look at him for hours and hours. but, katie holmes was disappointing. they didn't have her in any tight cat-woman-like outfits or anything. i mean, she wasn't cat woman, but still... shit... all she did was get poisioned and insult people. she had minimal lame lines.

it was an interesting perspective on the story though. and of course i have to say, neat effects.

Joke of the day - Thursday

A man standing in line at a check out counter of a grocery store was very surprised when a very attractive woman behind him said, "Hello!" Her face was beaming. He gave her that "who are you" look, and couldn't remember ever having seen her before.

Then, noticing his look, she figured she had made a mistake and apologized. "Look," she said, "I'm really sorry but when I first saw you, I thought you were the father of one of my children," and walked out of the store.

The guy was dumbfounded and thought to himself, "What the heck is the world coming to? Here is an attractive woman who can't keep track of who fathers her children?!" Then he got a little panicky. "I don't remember her," he thought but, MAYBE... during one of the wild parties he had been to when he was in college, perhaps he did father her child!

He ran from the store and caught her in the parking lot and asked, "Are you the girl I met at a party in college and then we got really drunk and had wild crazy sex on the pool table in front of everyone?"

"No", she said with a horrified look on her face. "I'm your son's second grade teacher!"

sorry my blog has been kind of lame and brief lately. i've been recovering from my procedure and not on the computer much... well, actually, on the computer but not out of my apartment doing anything of great excitement much.

the high school reunion stuff has been interesting but not too much to report from that... and father's day will be chill. i'll post a picture or two from that.

i left at 5am for the hospital today. around 730am i was put to sleep and had ESWL on my kidney. i'm home now and i'm feeling great. the doctor said that my stone was pulverzied.

when i woke up from my general anesthesia i was hysterically laughing because i had a dream that Manal was telling me a joke. the quote of the day could be that the first words i heard when i woke up were "what's so funny?" coming from the post-op nurse.

ESWL defined

"Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) uses highly focused impulses projected from outside the body to pulverize kidney stones anywhere in the urinary system. The stone usually is reduced to sand-like granules that can be passed in the patient's urine. Large stones may require several ESWL treatments. The procedure should not be used for struvite stones, stones over 1 inch in diameter, or in pregnant women."

and the Kidney Stone battle continues...

my regular readers know that tomorrow morning i was scheduled for a ureteroscopy (a procedure where a doctor puts me to sleep and enters my ureter tube through my urethra/bladder to extract a kidney stone that was stuck and not passing on it's own).

today i went in for some KUB (kidney ureter bladder) scans so the doctor could see the current positioning of my obstructed stone. low and behold the stone is no longer there. now, this may sound like good news right off the bat... however, some had theorized that this stone had been there for 1 1/2 to 2 years (maybe longer) and all of a sudden it's gone? without me noticing? that's odd. what was also not good news was the fact that i have ANOTHER stone... this time inside my kidney. this made me eligible for a totally different treatment.

therefore, the doctor changed my procedure tomorrow from a Ureteroscopy to an Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL). i am still going to the hospital at 5am and being put to sleep, but instead of having him enter me to extract the stone he is going to blast it with lasers in the hopes of breaking it up so i can pass it on my own. once i do more research on this procedure i will give you more details... of course.

Tonight I went to the Theater in Old Town in San Diego to see a play called The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron. It was great. Honestly, something to be enjoyed by both men and women. You won't be disappointed.

Our journey ended today. We not only survived our cross country road trip, but we also had an amazing adventure that we will never forget.

But, we didn't leave the desert before heading out on the golf cart one more time. We needed to see where we had been cruising around the night before... well, and sing loudly and take silly pictures of course.

Day #7 - Parker, CA to Los Angeles, CA

We woke up in Parker with our final destination of LA only hours away.

Mark and Tiff wanted to show Monica and I around the sand dunes at night. So, we took the Prince of India's chariott out into the night. After some semi-off-roading and wild desert donkey chasing, we set off some fireworks.

I know I have it listed like we were going to Lake Havasu, AZ, but we in fact were headed toward Parker, CA which is a little town just south of Lake Havasu City. Monica's brother, Mark, has a great trailer there just along side the Colorado River. We had a blast spending our last night there with Mark and his girlfriend Tiffany.
