Dim Sum and wild Hawks!

these are not original images (because i am still without my camera) but i was definitely having urges to document our day of dim sum at koi palace and concert in stern grove. the park looks way different filled with thousands of people all up in the trees... and wild hawk trainers.

a new cereal

for those of you who know me well (or even just for those of you who read this blog regularly) you know that i love cereal. it has been a while since a new cereal came onto the scene that i've totally loved. many of the classics are still quite satisfying. therefore, when i found the new grape nuts trail mix cereal i tried to keep my hopes in check. i really didn't need to because this cereal is so good!

i have been way into granola over the past few months because it's more filling and substantial than other cereals. however, if it sits in the milk too long it gets soggy and heavy. this grape nuts trail mix cereal tastes like granola but is much lighter. it's still got the great grape nuts original crunch but adds the satisfying and sweet nature of granola. i didn't feel a need to snack all morning!

so, if you like crunch but grape nuts always seemed to bland and boring to you, give this new trail mix kind a try.

where'd the pics go?

wondering why you haven't seen any current photos on this blog for days?

well, yeah, i'm lame. i left my brand new digital camera in a tea house in pasadena. see, my conversations with Mon are just so enthralling that i leave expensive stuff behind!

i am hoping to get it back soon so hang in there for some original Tor images later this month. my goal is to get it back before the holiday weekend when i'll be in new mexico for Nat's wedding!

Emailed quote of the day - Tuesday

"Honestly I'm fine with any scenario, airline tix would save time but I'm also up for the road trip. If I had a watergun to my head the yay's(for air travel) would defeat the nay's 50.01-49.989999999*

*number rounded in the interest of space, also the ninth digit (nine) after the decimal defeated the would be tenth digit in a rock/paper/scissors single elimination contest, you should have been there, I was and the ninth digit faked like it was gonna do rock and then pulled scissors on the flustered tenth's "paper." The tenth digit had to be escorted off the little calculator, it wasn't pretty, there were definetly words exchanged. The ninth nine was a little shaken up and is considering going into seclusion in rural Pennsylvania. Vh1 has already contacted the ninth nine about doing a 'where are the digits now' special in a few years, terms are being worked out on both sides. I'll update as information becomes available."

Survey: iPods More Popular Than Beer

(06-08) 06:06 PDT San Jose, Calif. (AP) --

Move over Bud. College life isn't just about drinking beer. In a rare instance, Apple Computer Inc.'s iconic iPod music player surpassed beer drinking as the most "in" thing among undergraduate college students, according to the latest biannual market research study by Ridgewood, N.J.-based Student Monitor.

Nearly three quarters, or 73 percent, of 1,200 students surveyed said iPods were "in" — more than any other item in a list that also included text messaging, bar hopping and downloading music.

In the year-ago study, only 59 percent of students named the iPod as "in," putting the gadget well below alcohol-related activities.

This year, drinking beer and Facebook.com, a social networking Web site, were tied for second most popular, with 71 percent of the students identifying them as "in."

The only other time beer was temporarily dethroned in the 18 years of the survey was in 1997 — by the Internet, said Eric Weil, a managing partner at Student Monitor.

Though beer might soon regain its No. 1 spot, as it quickly did a decade ago, the iPod's popularity is still "a remarkable sign," Weil said. "For those who believe there's an excessive amount of drinking on campus, now there's something else that's common on campuses."

Student Monitor conducted the survey the week of March 6, interviewing full-time undergraduate students at 100 U.S. colleges. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.3 percentage points.

Happy June 1st

it's the beginnging of June... YAY! what does this mean? well, for one thing it means that all of my SFSU friends graduated last weekend. so, here is a shout out for you guys.

it also means that my summer of crazy travels has started. as you all know, last weekend we were in chicago. this weekend we will be on the east coast, next weekend we are driving up to seattle, and then the following weekend (of course due almost entirely to Monica's return to the states) i will be in LA and Long Beach.

will i even remember what SF looks like? oh right, i'll be working at SFSU 20 hours a week among all of these travels. i know, you're exhausted just thinking of it. just wait until you hear what July looks like!
