One year ago from today...

...we had the most amazing wedding ever in San Francisco. We want to do it again every single day. Here's to many more anniversaries!

A little recap of the night one year ago

Letting the cat out of the bag, one year later...

As most of you know, because you were there, our wedding was on November 15th, 2008. However, what we didn't announce, but are now going to, is that exactly one year ago from today, according to the state of California, we actually became legally married.

On October 8th, 2008 we went to the Alameda County office and signed all of the forms to get hitched! We needed to get the paperwork done sooner than mid-late November because we were moving abroad so shortly after our wedding, so we decided to expedite the paperwork process.

It was so much fun! We told a few people, and Dave's best friend John was there to witness the event, but it really felt like we were sneaking away somewhere and getting married. It was casual, romantic, we made totally adorable spontaneous little speeches to each other, and we simply had a great time as you'll see in the photos below.

We did not announce it sooner because we did not want to take anything away from the magic that occurred at our wedding. We wanted that night to be special, and as you know if you were there, it totally was. Declaring our commitment to each other in front of our dearest friends, our families, and with our rabbi was very important to us. We'd do it all over again if we had the chance.

HAPPY ONE YEAR OF CIVIL MARRIAGE, MY LOVE!

And the wedding celebration begins

I know I haven't been blogging about it much... not on this blog at least (wink wink) but our wedding is happening THIS SATURDAY! Today marks the beginning of the madness because my Best Woman, Monica, arrives today. Tomorrow my Mom and Stepdad arrive, and the next day the rest of our parents, grandparents, and siblings arrive. By Friday there will be a whole swarm of guests and we'll all be in San Francisco rehearsing, preparing, and celebrating.

I'll try to blog from there, but since most of my readers will be in attendance, I guess there is no rush. :)

We survived the engagement party!

And, we still want to get married! I know, it's a good sign, right? :p

Engagement Party

We had the most wonderful engagement party hosted at my mom and stepdad's house in Long Beach. Our families and closest friends all came together to celebrate with us. It was a blast!

Wedding update

Just wanted to throw in a little wedding update here on my "regular" blog... as opposed to my "wedding blog" which is not public.

Planning is going really well, we have booked most of our vendors (such as our cupcakes, photographer, videographer, and DJ) and all of the other details are coming along smoothly so far. The biggest news is that I found my dress! The next things on our wedding planning list are to find a florist and then register.

I guess this stuff not terribly exciting, but some people like to know about these sorts of things.

Here it is... THE ring!

It's finally here... my diamond engagement ring! Since we had the ring made with a diamond given to us by my Mom, it took a little longer than we had hoped it would... but it was worth the wait!

Our rings

Many people are asking to see our rings, so here they are! Dave and I decided that we both wanted engagement rings, so we went shopping together spontaneously one day after we were already engaged.

Both of these rings are silver, but don't worry all of you traditional diamond fans... we're having a diamond engagement ring made for me with a diamond from a ring my Mother gave me. I'll post pics of that ring once it exists.
