I am officially a Certified Parent Educator

For the past two years I've been taking online courses through the University of Minnesota to become a parent educator. Tonight I turned in my last final, and so now I'm officially a Certified Parent Educator! WOO HOO! Time to get out there and support those parents at being the best and most amazing parents they can be!

Spring semester officially ends today... SUMMER BREAK is here!

One more week until summer break...

In exactly one week from today spring semester at UMN will be officially over. My final project will be turned in, 3am chats will be over, *summer will have arrived.


*except for my pesky Dutch final, which is on the 29th. So, summer officially starts for me on the 30th, but I'm going to celebrate the end of the UMN semester, because that's what really matters.

WINTER BREAK!

Ok, so, I know it's still October, but you read that right... I'm officially on winter break already! I love being a student. Basically, the program I am doing at UMN is organized into half semesters, and I opted not to take a class during the second half of fall semester. I figured getting married and moving to Europe was enough for my plate right now.

Anyway, classes won't start up for me again until the end of January just like everyone else after winter break. I'm so excited for this little relief in studying! I've been taking classes straight through since the end of May with no breaks at all.

Ahhhhhh... relaxing... oh, wait, I've got a wedding to plan! It's in just over 3 weeks. Yikes!

Visiting UMN

Well, of course while we're in Minnesota we planned a trip to visit my school. It was weird walking on to campus for the first time as a grad student who's been taking classes since June... online! It was a gorgeous fall day.

My second parent education class ended today. My final paper is due and I have about one day to rest before my third class begins. The first day of school in the fall isn't too exciting when you've been taking classes all summer.

Writing, writing and more writing

I don't have anything interesting to say today. I am just working on my final paper for my 2nd parent education class. It's quite exhausting that this class ends on Wednesday and my fall class starts on Thursday. I'm getting a headache just thinking about it!

Gopher Girl

And so starts my life as a Gopher. My first online class at UMN started yesterday. I wasn't in student mode yet so I dropped the ball a bit, but I spent all morning today catching up. I watched online videos and read lecture notes online, and I even posted on bulletin boards. It's crazy how quickly student mode can kick back in. It's like riding a bike!
