Not like I needed an excuse, but...

Today is Jenn's birthday so I decided to order a dozen pink cupcakes from Marcie, an American woman here in Amsterdam who decided to do something about the lack of birthday cake/cupcake situation in the Netherlands. She started her own mini-baking business called Bloomin' Good Bakery and I was so excited to find her!




Don't worry Jenny, the ones you and I make next week when you're visiting will be even better!!!

Trying to save the planet

If you decide to save the planet and not get extra plastic bags for your fruits and veggies at the grocery store, you may end up with the price stickers stuck directly on to your food!

Our new addition!

No no, it's not what you're thinking... we bought a drier! I know this may not sound like a big deal, but for the last three months we've been wearing stiff, crunchy clothing, and hauling all of our towels and bedding to a nearby laundry service place. But, now, jammed into our closet, we have a shiny new drier. I love it already!

As you all have figured out by now, Amsterdam is a biking town. Everyone bikes everywhere in every kind of weather. Some bikes have these huge baskets in front for children to ride in. I saw this doll in this bike basket and thought it was too cute so I wanted to share it.
