wouldn't you know, leap year brought up a great conversation in our home. everyone seems to have learned some song when they were a kid about how many days are in each month. however, we were shocked to learn that we each sang a different ending. i sang my version to dave, he sang his version to me, then we googled it to prove who was right (something we do all the time)
we were surprised to find numerous alternative variations!
most of them start like this:
30 days hath september
april, june, and november
all the rest have 31...
and then that's where it changes. what ending did you learn? we're super curious. do tell!

30 days has September
April June and November
The rest have 31
Except February
Which has 28
And 29 on leap year
(it loses it's song-like qualities towards the end...)
mine was like that too! no sing-songiness at the end. it went something like, "except for february which has 29". ha!
dave sang this whole tune at the end about leap year when he performed his version to me.
i don't have a song. i learned on my knuckles!
what about the knuckle method?
30 days has September
April, June, and November
After February's done
All the rest have 31!
still sing-songy, but not quite as informative when it comes to the complications of February ;-)
all the rest have 31
except for february alone
and that has 28 days clear
and 29 in each a-leap-y year
(you need some extra syllables to make it scan right...)
Not that I'm an authority, but we learned it thusly: Thirty days hath September, April, June and November. All the rest have 31 save February which alone has twenty eight, but one day more we add to it each year in four.
