It was "intensive"

I will admit it publicly (here on my blog, which I guess is not really public) that until today I said the phrase "for all intensive purposes." Dave caught it tonight and claimed that the phrase was actually "for all intents and purposes," so we looked it up.

The comprehensive list of common errors in English can eat away at many hours of your life. You've been warned... but it's pretty great.
