It's getting all wintery over here!

Sinterklaas arrived yesterday!

Last year our arrival to Amsterdam was delayed and we missed the Sinterklaas celebration in early December. Well, this year we were determined to experience it! So, yesterday when Sinterklaas and his zwarte piets sailed in to Amsterdam on boats from Spain (hey, why come from the North Pole? Spain is so much nicer!) we were waiting by the river (along with hundreds of other people) to see the show.


Unfortunately it was very cold and wet. That didn't stop the crowds though!


The zwarte piets must have used special paint because it didn't wash off in the rain!


Finally Sinterklaas himself sailed down the river. We were soaked but we had a great time!

One year ago from today...

...we had the most amazing wedding ever in San Francisco. We want to do it again every single day. Here's to many more anniversaries!
 

A little recap of the night one year ago

Leggo my Eggo

I mentioned in passing today that I would love an eggo waffle. I didn't think much of making such a statement because they don't have eggo waffles here. It's not like I eat them in the states very often, but for some reason it sounded appealing. Anyway, because I have the sweetest husband in the world, he stopped on his way home from the swimming pool with 3 different kinds of waffles. "These were the only kinds of waffles I could find!" he exclaimed. Mini stroopwafels of course, flashwafels (wtf?), and aardapplewafeltjes (which are going to be like tater tots). I love it that he understands the concept, "it's the thought that counts."

New month... fall turns to winter
